Below are commonly asked questions (FAQ) by our guests staying at our cabin here in South Lake Tahoe. Please contact us if you do not find the answer to the question you might have. We want to ensure the best stay possible at our Famous Cabin.


Where are you located?
Our Cabin is located in South Lake Tahoe. We are directly across the street from El Dorado Beach and just minutes away from south shore casino entertainment, and Heavenly Skiing.

How do I make a reservation?
Please check your desired dates by using our availability “calendar” and then simply call (530) 955-1004 OR e-mail us at reservations@turnkeyvr.com

What time is check-in / out? 
Check-in is after 3 PM. and check-out is 10 AM. We need time to thoroughly clean the home and linens for our next guests.


How to access our guest portal or mobile app? 
You can download TurnKey (our management) smart phone app which will keep you up to date on your reservation information including a map to the unit, directions, a local area guide, and door unlock code. If you wish to share the information with other guests, you can easily invite them to be able to access it themselves.    

You can use your Apple or Android devices, or computer to access your reservation information. Your login credentials (Email address & Check-in date)will be email to you pre-arrival.Click here to access the guest portal or mobile app.


Is your kitchens stocked?
If you enjoy cooking you’ll love our cabin. Our kitchen is completely outfitted with modern appliances, cookware, silverware, glassware, dishware, to name a few.


Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes, there are two, Safeway and Raley’s are about 5-10 minutes away.

Parking at your cabin? Parking spaces available in the front drive (3 CARS maximum allowed - Parallel Parking). Unfortunately STREET PARKING IS NOT PERMITTED.

3 CARS Parallel Parking - A maximum of 3 vehicles are allowed at this home.  Parking is limited to the paved driveway of 992 Lakeview; This City maximum is strictly enforced 24 hours a day.  Additional cars are not allowed at any time, and will result in a fine to the guest.  Street Parking is NEVER allowed.  Vehicles are not allowed to park on the streets of VHRs. Also during snow removal operations; violations will result in fine and/or towing.

Parking in front of neighboring homes and on the grave/dirt could result in being towed and associated charges. Do not leave cars in the nearby City parking lots overnight.  These are day-use parking areas only and are also subject to snow removal operations at any time.

Maximum Occupancy:  10 - Adults & Kids 

The Maximum Occupancy for this home is 10.  Per the ordinance, the allowable occupancy for this unit is strictly enforced (see Permit on or near the inside of the front door for maximum occupancy. The maximum occupancy is enforced 24 hours a day and it is not limited to overnight guests; any gathering - including a dinner party -- they are in violation of the City ordinance and can trigger a fine. Over occupancy is also a breach of the Guest Rental Contract and can lead to eviction. Should local law enforcement find more people on site, you will incur a fine. Violations will result in fines to the guest.  Guest is responsible for any fines incurred by the homeowner due to guest actions. 

Noise Violation: 10:00PM to 8:00AM

The City ordinance regulating vacation rental noise is very strict and heavily enforced 24 hours.  Noise levels should be kept at a reasonable volume at all times (including daylight hours). Please, no loud conversations or noisy child’s play outside.   Be aware that noise can echo from the bocce ball court and corn hole games to neighboring areas.

The City’s official Quiet Hours are in effect from 10:00PM to 8:00AM. Violations will result in an immediate fine to the guest without prior warning.   Failure to comply, or repeat offenses are subject to eviction by the management company or their security Patrol. 

Per City rules, no parties, events, or wedding receptions are allowed at any time.


What does my rental include?
Our cabin complete with fine linens, towels, the initial supply of paper towels, trash bags, dish detergent, laundry detergent, kitchen equipment, to name a few. There is also music, dvds, washer / dryer, cribs, DVD, games, snow removal service..


Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. Our management company accepts major credit cards.


Do you allow pets?

Sorry, pets are NOT allowed!


Is your cabin nonsmoking?
Yes, This is a nonsmoking cabin.

Rental Access

Access Instructions:

  • Check in is at 3PM

  • Check out is at 10AM

  • Parking spaces available in the front drive. Unfortunately street parking is not permitted at this location.

  • Front & Side door Lock & Unlock Operation:

    • Un-Locking the Door:

      • To gain access; enter your access code on our key-less lock. Each digit must be entered within 10 seconds.  

      • After hearing the ascending tone and while the [SCHLAGE] oval button flashing green light, please turn the lock knob within 5 seconds to unlock the door.

      • If you need to try again, allow several seconds for the lock to reset before trying your code again. If the code was not accepted. Please call 888-512-0498 and speak to a TurnKey representative if there is a problem.

    • To lock the door:

      • The door does not lock automatically! To lock the door when leaving the home, simply press the Schlage button then turn the deadbolt in the same direction you would as if you were locking the door using a key. (please confirm it is locked).

Wireless Internet and Television information

  • Provided upon check-in

Washer and Dryer

  • Washer / Dryer is located in the 2nd floor, standard and easy to use machines.


  • Trash bins are located in the bear box.

  • Trash day is Tuesday.

  • Lake Tahoe is bear country, and vacation renters have to be diligent about disposal of garbage. To avoid violation/fine, do not set trash on the exterior of the building at any time.  Use the secure bear box in the driveway only, or leave the trash inside the home.   Trash pickup day is Tuesday.  Call the management company if you need trash service prior to Tuesday.  Guests will be cited for any violations

Check Out

  • Please Leave Heater to 55 during winter months when checking out.

  • To assist our housekeepers, it would be appreciated if you could start a load of towels in the wash

To ensure an enjoyable vacation, you need to be aware of South Lake Tahoe’s vacation rental ordinances that can have a serious impact on your stay.

Guests violating any of the ordinances are subject to fines of $1,000 per incident, as well as fines of $1,000 or any other associated fines or expenses incurred by the homeowner due to guest’s actions.  Enforcement officers are not allowed to issue warnings -- if they come to the property, they will issue a citation and fine. Guests are also subject to eviction for any violation.
